Amit/Asuph#BegumAkhtar remains the greatest #ghazal singer for me. Much more than a ghazal singer, of course. My son's piano teacher lent his precious #vinyl to me, and my god to listen to her record (and I don't even have a top end player/speaker) hits differently.
Begum Akhtar had a very difficult life and her face bears the ravages of that past, and strangely, that makes it more beautiful.
