Someone commented on an old Reddit essay I wrote about Hyperpop, so I might as well link it. I wasn't on Mastodon yet.
I rarely have the energy to listen to hyperpop anymore, but I still stand by what I said. Hyperpop is the 20s version of 90s punk and alternative, and is the most hopepunk and authentic manifestation of the darkly artificial cyberpunk world we find ourselves in. It doth subvert all the paradigms.
