Looking for advice on writing trans masc characters. Unsure of the transfem instance is the right place to ask but I'm gonna do it anyways.

I want to write trans masc characters in the future and don't really have many trans masc friends atm to base off of. Obviously I don't want to make them stereotypes and also don't want to fetishize them (I primarily write smut). Read a couple articles and wanted to know what may not get talked about often or what trans masc would want to see in characters.

Any advice would be helpful thank you
@LateNiteGL good news is that i have worked my ass off to allow transfem.social to have decent intersectionality with transmasc individuals.
@LateNiteGL I’m a trans guy and a fellow writer if you wanna chat

@LateNiteGL Disclaimer: I have not transitioned surgically or socially for reasons.

However, if there is one thing, it's that I think of myself as a *person*. This was my first clue that I might not be cis. Gender roles don't exist to my eyes until society throws them in my path. I'm just one of the guys. Even if I look like a woman (and isn't one on the inside).

@LateNiteGL Transmasc people are often little, they like to wear a cap and they look like they were ten years younger, which mostly bother them.
A "ggod" hormonal transition will provide a big beard and a long dicklit.
Transmasc people can have their periods and they can be comfortable with that or not.
There are very few transmasc people over 40 y/o but it will change!
If you have more precise questions, let me know.

@LateNiteGL
I hope you get a wide range of opinions, transmascs are a diverse crowd :D

some stuff I like to see:
* short guys in charge 🫡;
* fat bodies being adored;
* long-haired mascs;
* cis hookups exploring and respecting trans bodies - "I dunno what this trans thing is, but I'd be happy to learn" is one of my favorite tropes;
* slob masculinity is as valid as dandy masculinity;
* older stealth men [it's me, I'm older stealth men];
* giving head as topping;
* different types of bottom surgery and ways to achieve an erection;
* stone tops;
* some trans men like to be vaginally penetrated, others don't. personally I avoid stories about vaginal bottoming, but this config feels affirming for many guys - you can't please everyone, write what feels right for the character.

@RatOfWar thank you so much! A couple of these I had in mind but a lot I didn't. Definitely got the gears spinning so I'm excited to see what I can come up with! Thank you :)

@LateNiteGL
I'm really looking forward to your smut output!

one more plotline came to mind: t4t at different stages, with different procedures/results, comparing and testing how things feel during sex. this could turn out so cool...
