I'm a huge consumer of content on YouTube. In fact YouTube Premium is the only thing keeping me from totally divesting myself of Google.

Films like this are why I stick around:

This is an absolute masterpiece. Everybody should give it a go. If it seems silly and cute, stick around. Shit gets interesting.

Hello My Beautiful Creatures

YouTube

@JayLittle I don't get why anyone would pay for Youtube Premium, just set up network-wide adblocking...

Anyways, regarding #JoelHaver: He's awesome! I really enjoyed this movie by him. Gets really intense and emotional. Crazy good.

We Have to Leave Here Together

@graves501 Well for one thing I want creators like Joel Haver to be able keep right on making awesome films ;)

Do you really need another reason?

@JayLittle

If you really want to support artists/creators you should support them directly (Patreon etc.)

There are a lot of musicians that play covers etc. and sometimes their Patreon subscribers (or Libera etc.) are the only revenue source since they don't get ad revenue.

So what good does a YouTube Premium account do?

@graves501 I love that even though you just finished advocating for a network wide ad-block as the primary alternative to YouTube Premium you are now trying to lecture me on the ethics of paying for it by playing the "you gotta support creators" card despite the fact you yourself are going out of your way to deny them one of their primary revenue streams.

That being said, I don't really want to argue about it. I got far more important things afoot. You go your way, I'll go mine.

Peace out.

@JayLittle

Nah, not arguing really. You stated that you cannot leave Google behind because of YouTube Premium.

The outcome of either using YouTube Premium or using adblock is the same. You're not really supporting the creators.

So why bother with YouTube premium, you still haven't answered this simple question.

You started rambling about supporting creators, but once again, the most effective way is to support them directly. But instead you'd rather pay Google.

Doesn't make sense really.
