The Talk - Lemmy.zip

Source [https://mstdn.social/@grickle/114342826912805229] A cartoon illustration of a father bird and mother bee sitting down to talk to their mixed bird-bee child. Caption reads “Son, your mother and I feel you’re ready to have the ‘talk’.”

I’ve always wondered about the etymology of that phrase.
The birds and the bees are both males. They pollinate flowers, which would be the females in the analogy.

Bees have a haplo-diploid sex determinism and birds work with ZW sex chromosomes.

I don’t get it either.
