Watercolor friends! So I know Opera Pink is super fugitive which is why I’ve never bought a tube. I don’t even want to be tempted.

Until now, when a tube is here, in my hands, and oh wow this is a really fun color!

So my question is, the fugitive-ness only matters if I’m hanging it up, yes? If I limit it to my copious sketchbook habit, it won’t matter? Because so little light will ever hit that page, right?

@hollie To the best of my knowledge, having worked in a museum for over a decade and with conservators a few times... it depends?

Some pigments are inherently unstable and will degrade over time without significant UV exposure. But that's the usual culprit when it comes to fugitivity. You're *probably* fine, unless you hope your art will last a thousand years :)
