Tankies when you tell them state ownership shouldn't be the goal of socialism 😡🤬

Tankies approving of capitalist exploitation when China does it. 🤓☝️

Like, state ownership isn't automatically bad. I believe that nationalization is often a progressive development that improves the lives of the people.

But nationalization in and of itself isn't socialist. Otherwise, we would include Metternich, Bernstein, and Bismarck as among the great theorists of socialism!

The ultimate demand of socialists should be "social ownership and worker control of the means of production". Nationalisation partially fulfills the first step of the demand while neglecting the second step.

We should eliminate the exploitative and destructive social relations underlying capital. That should be the ultimate goal of socialism.

China hasn't done that. China is essentially social democratic capitalism, but with a Soviet style political system.

I am impressed with Chinese planning for the future compared to the myopic US, but I am harshly critical of their political system and their faux-socialist economic system.

Has the Communist Party of China done some things that could be considered impressive? Yes.
Are they really what we want to be? Not to me.

@burnoutqueen well, you at least are able to do a "#NuancedOpinion" on things...
