The reason I love #Ladds500 so much is that it crystalizes Portland's optimism and defiance. In all honesty, in terms of infrastructure, leadership & safety, PDX is a mediocre to substandard city for people who bike. Yet people who bike here celebrate, in costume, loudly, joyously, whole-heartedly.
