Reaching room 46 in Blue Prince was really satisfying. But I feel like I'm still less than half done. There are a lot of mysteries left, and a lot of story I don't understand yet.
And there's a trophy for "Reach room 46 on day 1". I don't know how that's possible. Maybe it's just a persistence achievement: keep retrying until the random draws are favorable? I feel like I'm still missing something important; I don't see how there's more than a 1% chance of success...
ok, I've found a sanctum key in Blue Prince, and now I'm very confused... I might need to play another hundred or so in-game days to understand this...
one glitch now that I've switched from windows to linux: videos aren't playing. known problem. unfortunately means I missed a fortune teller video. well, the earlier fortune teller videos were more tease than helpful. maybe there will be a way to review them all later
now that I've carelessly lost all my screenshots again, wondering if I should continue with my current profile or start a new one (again). there are some subtle permanent choices that I might do better
currently have 34 allowance, 2 sanctum. I think most of my permanent choices are ok, a little better than my first profile
still confused about "reach 46 on day one"; that still seems impossible
... probably just continue current profile until I understand how to do that
I now have two todo lists for Blue Prince:
- "things I know how to do" has ~10 items
- "things I don't know how to do" has ~50 items
... jira doesn't seem like the right task tracking tool here. I need a conspiracy-wall version of trello

@zicklag in Steam, Settings, Compatibility, turn on "Enable Steam Play for all other titles".
set "Run other titles" to "Proton hotfix", which is the bleeding-edge version supported by Valve. (you can also set the version individually in a game's properties)
For some games, you might want to use GE-Proton instead, which includes fixes not in Valve's version: in particular, it has better Media Foundation video support. To get GE-Proton, I used the app ProtonUp-Qt
@gray17 Awesome, thanks!!
One more question. Do you know if you can launch the game fine offline?
The device I want to put it on usually doesn't have internet access, and I've not used Steam for anything else yet, so not exactly sure if I'll be able to make it work or not.
@zicklag yeah, seems to work fine. I turned off my internet, started Steam, and played through a day of Blue Prince without trouble.
note, you probably do need GE-proton for the game's cinematics to work. the cinematics aren't strictly necessary, but they do help, and have a lovely mood. you can test that cinematics work by viewing the game's credits from its settings menu.
(Steam is also easy to refund if you try it and it doesn't work)
