@cedar
I disagree that process needs respecting. My two cents as a stranger from a strange land: the bookfair is clearly leveraging tools of social power against another event that has NOT acted antagonistically in kind. The gap between "we took your timeslot because you weren't using it and we are running things our way not yours" and open equivocations to active endorsements of structural oppression and hate groups (as displayed in book fair statement) is incredibly large. Characterization as backstabbing racists is not a difference of opinion, it is a statement of intent to dispose of opposition. These are not two equal actors with reasonable points, this is one much larger actor trying to stir up a mob after the much smaller one.

If that's a difference boiled down to different means of organizing, I'm personally very comfortable opposing their means of organizing. There is no reciprocity in respect here and no room left by the OP to expect any.

@echo @anarchybookfair @cedar just to clarify, I don't think the op (cedar) is an organizer of constellation. But yeah, I do think we should behave our best even when other people are behaving shitty. And being a formal, process-y collective that takes two months to respond to anything isn't the problem here, issuing ridiculous statements trying to reclaim the event they abandoned by insinuating that everybody but them is racist definitely *is* the problem.
