Turns out all those people stockpiling guns in case the government tries to take away their rights are actually totally fine letting the government take away their 1st amendment right to free speech, their 5th amendment right to due process, their wife's 14th amendment right to bodily autonomy, their 22nd amendment right to presidential term limits, and their 24th amendment right to free elections, as long as they can be racist.
@Lana flags should read "tread on me harder daddy".
@Finitum @Lana It's not that they want to be trod on. It's more that they want someone *else* to be trod on. (By now when I see flags put out with that saying I instinctively read them with a strong stress on the last word.)

@Lana
I've seen a lot of American movies in my life. One thing made that clear to me:
the american dream of freedom,
is the idea they will shoot someone they don't like.

That's not freedom.
That's fascism.

@Lana They'll come for the guns, too. Eventually.
@TheJen @Lana I spent january trying to explain this to people, but no one seems to believe it. πŸ™„
@Lana Locked and loaded and ready to fire at the first sign of your jobs, goods and pensions evaporating.
Hard to hit, though.
@Lana Eh, it really is not the cognitive dissonance you seem to imply it is. Those well-regulated militias were always meant for precisely that, keeping the darkies down, aka slave patrols.
@martinvermeer I'm not pointing out cognitive dissonance. I'm pointing out a lie.
@Lana Too be fair, ya'll coulda stock piled your own guns for those things
@Lana yes, because the NRA are a bunch of coward POSes!
