It occurs to me to offer a hat-tip to @HowardTayler, having just received our numbered sketch edition volume 18 — yes, 18 — of the Schlock Mercenary print collection, Mandatory Failure.
If you're not familiar with it, Schlock Mercenary is a hilarious (and yet also serious at times) SF webcomic about a far-future mercenary company (and many other things), set in a rich universe with its own technologies and a host of alien races, not all of them organic (or even baryonic). It ran for over 20 years, from June 12, 2000 to July 4, 2020 without ever missing a single day. Do NOT underestimate how difficult that is.
If you missed it on first run, you can always go back right now and re-read it from the start. Or, you could buy a set (ALMOST complete now) of the big, gorgeous softcover books.
Check it out. It's worth your time.
