@LevZadov @martinmunthe @nullagent I've yet to see an "enlightened centrist" or right winger take a stance against the carceral system. But have met a lot of far left anti carceral activists. It's such a non thing, I barely ever see any leftist pretend the USSR was a great thing that had no flaws, and the gulags were definitely a part of that. But that isn't an inherent quality of the framework of leftism at all, and it's so intellectually dishonest to pretend it is.
