This is about finding & ratting out people who MAY or MAY NOT be here illegally.
They WANT to gather a list so they can hold it & shake it at hearings like McCarthy.
"I hold in my hand a list of XX "illegal aliens in the US."
They won't show us the list, since it's filled with false reports.
The existence of a LIST with ANY number acts as an "anchor" number that the left would have to dispute, vs the right verifying it. @GottaLaff
