Each year Iโ€˜m trying to learn a new programming language. Mostly to keep myself informed about different languages and learning different approaches.

That being said Iโ€˜m looking for my new language 2025.

I already did:
- Python
-TypeScript / JavaScript
- Rust
- Dart
- Java
- Elixir / Erlang
- Haskell
- C#
- Go
- Ruby
- PHP

You should do this language next:

C / C++

Kotlin
45.5%
Scala

@DerMolly heard good things about both Zig and F#
@DerMolly Scala is fun. If only for the syntactic sugar everywhere.
@lazalatin Interessante Acquisition Strategie.

@DerMolly Smalltalk!

Probably Pharo[1] is still the way to go to try it out in a modern world, but maybe also Squeak[2] and Cuis[3]

Pharo - Welcome to Pharo!

@DerMolly How did you skip c/c++ O.o
But if you try it. There is the C side oft c and c++ were you can learn a lot about how computers work on a lower level.

And there is the modern c++ way. Which is more modern OOP and you can geht rid of pointers.

Still voted kotlin. Could be a Java replacement. But has limited tooling.

@ruffdd Well I did some C/C++ already in university, but I didn't do too mich besides the course work. So this not really new, but trying to dig a bit deeper.
