i just learned that apparently one of my fav games, the finals, seems to be dying
my guess why would be that they seem to have avoided dark patterns like the plague (<3)
what the hell is the finals? (considering most probably never heard of it)
a shooter, set in a game show of the same name, with a destructible environment, little gore and a lot of fucking chaos
other things that make it special:
- linux is enabled in eac
- no lootboxes, no pay2win. you pay for skins directly or for multibucks, you can't pay for the currency you need to unlock weapons. you always get exactly what you pay for
- it makes most modern games seem ancient tech-wise. i've been following the studio since before they announced the game, and basically everything i expected came true: amazing graphics, amazing performance (i'm unable to make it dip to below 40 on max settings, and it has a DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENT ffs)
- it's coherent. you don't have any immersion-breaking skins, it's set in a game show, with sponsors, so you have a lot of sponsor-branded skins (none of the sponsors, and none of the ads in-game are for real world companies), but also a lot of random, fun shit. wanna shoot up opponents with a rifle looking like a gaming keyboard? go for it!
please give this game some love, i really don't wanna see it die, especially with how much new and fun shit it tried.
