Just acquired a gallon (3.78L) of gold maple syrup. #maplesyrup #maple
@MartinGuay Hang on to it, it will be valuable very soon.
@Snowshadow I'm not worried. I can get more if I need too, but It'll last me the year.
@MartinGuay A year? I admire your self-control. lol.
@Snowshadow oh yeah we don't use it that often. At best it's used for making maple bacon, maple sausage or French toast. Don't really use it for much else. $55 isn't bad at all.

@MartinGuay I just sent you a suggestion.Experiment with it...It's great on everything...ice cream, fish, in some stews, some vegetarian meals, on sweet potatoes....lots of uses for maple syrup.

edit: cook with it, not added afterward

@Snowshadow thank you
@MartinGuay I sound like a sales person, eh. lol.
@Snowshadow nahh, you sound like someone who's vibrant and enjoys maple syrup 😊

@MartinGuay aaaw thanks. You're kind.

And yeah, I love maple syrup. lol.

@MartinGuay If you eat fish, try cooking salmon with a maple syrup glaze. yummm.

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay
maple teriyaki sauce
maple ginger & garlic
maple glazed ANYTHING.
maple & dill....

...I do not consume a lot of sugars, but it doesn't take much syrup to make these awesome dressings.

@Rural_Canadian
Yummm. Exactly.
I rarely use sugar, but like you said, a little maple syrup goes a long way. @MartinGuay

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay

this year I made a small jar of maple/chocolate/peach/coffee flavouring to pour over any dessert.
Great on a crisp or a pie.

@Rural_Canadian

ohhhh that sounds lovely. Did you use dark chocolate?

@MartinGuay

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay
yep. Boiled peach juice down with the last of the syrup, added dark chocolate, and a shot of dark roast coffee.
lol, it's also really nice to flavour a fresh cup of coffee with, too.

@Rural_Canadian

Oh I have all the ingredients...thanks. Great idea for coffee. : ) @MartinGuay

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay
Inspired... making a maple teriyaki sauce (spicy) for a stir-fry this evening.
Maple, garlic, ginger, rice wine, saki, soy sauce, crushed chilis, and a little cornstarch.

@Rural_Canadian @MartinGuay

Oh, I will be over for dinner in a few minutes, address please?

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay
lol, teaser:
I'll use some diced baked pork, basmati rice, cubed celery, red pepper, a bit of onion..... maybe a little cauliflour...
😇

@Rural_Canadian @MartinGuay

Oh that sounds like something I would prepare. Love the basmati rice addition.

I think I requested your address, didn't I ...? 🤣

@Snowshadow @MartinGuay
lol, come and find me in the Ottawa Valley west of our capital. ;)
I'll save a jar of syrup for you.
@MartinGuay Noice! That's a serious amount of syrup
