Note that while AirBnb has publicly distanced itself from Gebbia's actions, he is STILL in AirBnb's board of directors.

Airbnb founder Joe Gebbia says DOGE is pushing to create an ‘Apple-Store like experience’ in government

Gebbia joined Elon Musk and six other DOGE members to share details of their planned federal overhaul in an interview with Fox News.

#BDS has also been calling for more pressure on Airbnb, which together with Booking.com and Expedia, has been supporting illegal settlements in the West Bank and profiting from ongoing apartheid, forced evictions, and genocide.

Definitely not a company you want to do business with

Seized, settled, let: how Airbnb and Booking.com help Israelis make money from stolen Palestinian land

As Israel deploys tanks in the West Bank for the first time in 20 years, we reveal how two of the world’s biggest travel companies are helping settlers commercialise stolen land

@SaareMartha "a digital Platform" just what elders need
Yes, Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, has joined the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative led by Elon Musk under President Donald Trump's administration. Gebbia's primary focus within DOGE is to modernize the federal retirement process, aiming to transition from a slow, paper-based system to a more efficient, digital platform. He envisions creating an "Apple Store-like experience" for government services, emphasizing user-friendly and streamlined interactions.

Gebbia announced his involvement via social media, stating his enthusiasm to apply his "designer brain and start-up spirit" to governmental challenges. His appointment has elicited mixed reactions, including discussions within the Airbnb community and considerations about his ongoing role and income from Airbnb as a board member.

@Herefordrob @SaareMartha
My sleep deprived brain read that as "Gebbia's primary focus within DOGE is to MONETIZE the federal retirement process" and no lies detected.
@SaareMartha #ALT4you "billionnaire cofounder of airbnb joe gebbia has joined musk's doge team, so let's spread awareness and make sure nobody books a goddamn thing through airbnb ever again, shall we?". written on a billboard, atop a busy road, a group of people seem to be protesting on the sidewalk.
@SaareMartha ho hum another day, another bullshit company I would never do business with anyway. If you have been using airbnb you already suck. Please join my boycott of Lear Jets and Benetti yachts.
@SaareMartha
Great day to remove your property from AirB-n-B

Dominating the picture is a giant billboard with printing (the message may have been edited into the image).

The message is:
BILLIONAIRE CO-FOUNDER OF AIRBNB JOE GEBBIA HAS JOINED ELON MUSK'S DOGE TEAM, SO LET'S  SPREAD AWARENESS AND MAKE SURE NOBODY BOOKS THROUGH AIRBNB EVER AGAIN, SHALL WE?

The image is entirely AI generated, this was never a real photo, and certainly wasn’t just photoshopped. 😞

@SaareMartha pretty sure that's AI though
Couldn't you just share a news headline, or write it yourself ?

@SaareMartha
I'm A-OK with a boycott of air-bnb 'cuz it's anti-housing, but...

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/ABNB/holders/

ABNB went public and then Gebbia sold out. Insiders own 1.66%. Only Blackrock & Vanguard own >5%

@SaareMartha
If that's a reason for a boycott (and it is,) then I'm all for it. We can add it to the list of reasons. AirBNB destroys neighborhoods, contributes to the housing crisis, and drives up home prices.
