To those celebrating mothers today, especially those who only know cishet mothers who carried their own child / children, please remember that:
- not all mothers carried their child / children themselves.
- not all people who carried their child / children are, or want to be described as, mothers.
And please note that some mothers:
- are queer, intersex, trans, and/or non-binary
- are not biologically-related to their child / children, for any number of reasons.
All mothers are valid, irrespective of any of these 🫶🏻
