This game is a lot of fun. It has a somewhat casual build mode, but that allows you to focus on macro-strategies, which can get challenging.
Some screenshots from my late game run:
Orbital view of a terraformed planet.
Railway depot zone for the capital city.
Orbital view of the capital city shoreline.
Early game city. The planet still lacks oxygen, water and flora.
A basic factory block.
Unfortunately, I only have limited experience with Factorio. But I can say that Plan B is more casual and arguably has a different feel to it.
The factory/logistics building is focused on terraforming. Later on you may have to try get resource that have been flooded as the average temperature of your planets rises.
The logistics system is also extremely simplified. There is no need to worry about rail track capacity (although pickup and delivery can get messy if you keep playing).
