@arthurgessler Too bad Aotearoa's anti-evidence far-right govt has the same policy settings, because I'd love to see more scientists settle and work here.
Una@phil_stevens we also have very little funding. Some of the higher power labs in the US probably have the same level of funding as my whole department.
@sciolato It's been a systematic and deliberate series of policy decisions by neoliberals because the free market does this so much better. Haven't you seen all the excellent pure research coming out of the private sector recently?
