As much as I love when I connect a component and it just ✨works✨, I do love a good debugging journey. I'm self-taught when it comes to talking to computers, and I'm even more self-taught when it comes to talking to electrons, but the "small" issues that I manage to fix are pretty rewarding!

My upgraded DIY irrigation project (I'll probably do an overview thread with pics soon?) got delayed because I can't quite figure out why the flow sensor (CF-B6) isn't sending pulses to my ESP32. Fingers crossed that this issue is just because I did something stupid-but-reversible (as opposed to stupid-and-permanent such as releasing the magic smoke from within).

Went back to the product page to try to find the specs and came across this gem

This flow sensor is made of brown, it is waterproof...

#TheresYourProblem

So, I probably just need to incorporate another color to balance out the brown :D

Update: The data pin wasn't making a great connection
