I wish I could get this thought out of my head. But it’s like this thing that dominates all progressive talk even when ir goes unsaid. Every discussion on men’s issues becomes ‘women have it worse’ or ‘men don’t want to hear it.’ I am liberal, but I find myself having to sort of kill my feelings in order to be a part of any liberal movement.

I can agree with the general sentiment as a 50 year old American man. Our culture is far too accepting of abusive behavior and circumstances. And it’s markedly better than when I was a kid, which is wild to me even now.

But there’s also a very vocal segment that doesn’t want to be better, and I don’t know how to deal with that without resorting to extreme measures.

All I can do is try to personally be better and to call out the abuse when I see it. (Well, and listen when I’m still exhibiting problematic behavior.)

Of course that’s all excepting the current shitstorm of denying history and trying to take us back to the 1850s in rights and attitudes. To bring it back to the main point, yes. Eliminate us here. It may save the world.
