Multiple folks on here had good things to say about last year's #cdrama #FangsOfFortune so I decided to give it a try.

It is fantasy but also makes fun of the genre while still taking itself seriously enough. I like that.

I recognized Zhang Miao Yi as a demon in the first episode (she was Su Zai Zai in #WhenIFlyTowardsYou ) and Riley Wang who was also a demon buddy of Neo Hou in #BackFromTheBrink !

So far, the murder mysteries the #cdrama #FangsOfFortune solves are similar to #MysteriousLotusCasebook where they don't really take the viewer along for the fun of solving the mystery. No strategically placed hints and clues and secrets. Instead, the Clever Sleuths go into detail after the fact with how the problem was solved off screen. Not as much fun as western mysteries, IMHO, but the stories and sleuths are intriguing.

Lemme tell you, this water ghost storyline is mega anti marriage, wowza.

Master Qi just wanting the dowry for marrying off his daughter to a rich guy. "I spent so much money raising her. Once she's left the house, she's no longer my problem." Because the only reason to raise a female child to breedable age is so you can sell her for money/dowry, right? 😠

And Riley saying the brides he killed were all in similar trapped, terrible circumstances. 😫

Wow, Fangs of Fortune is the closest to bad ass super hero battles that I've seen in cdrama so far. Fun and intense!

At episode 24/34 in the #cdrama #FangsOfFortune I am very confused by the story.

Person X is dead. A couple episodes later, they are alive again.

Person Y is dead. A couple episodes later, they are alive again.

What could take an entire season of plot building is just spoken aloud as backstory in a single episode, and no longer important in the next episode.

Beginning of series: all demons are bad
Middle of series: ... Not All Demons
End of series (?): everyone is actually a demon

@JillsJoy Jep, that's the point where the story goes out the window and they turn their attention to "the (found) family unit" and personal relationship in trying times... what they have to say there isn't bad, but I still don't know why they bothered with the bigger plot at all. 😅 (I still love the series! I really do! 😆 )
