Another day, another rainy-errand.
As part of a series of fruited sours, all whose names will end in Dawn, #urbanfamilybrewing’s latest in the family is their Apricot Dawn. On draft, because we showed up waaaaaaay too late(!), this beer produces a whipped-cream white head, resting on a pool that is pale orange and opaque. Receding, there isn’t much to say beyond a wreath lace inside the glass.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of pungent apricot pulp along with some tropical citrus and a bit of sweetness.
Sipping, we recover notes of apricot pulp, tropical citrus, tart sourness, like medium to us, but you might call this “too sour” and a lingering sour finish. Overall, Apricot Dawn has a medium mouthfeel, noticeable alcoholic warmth, and a slight plastic’y finish that is expected when you use wild yeast strains. #seattle #washington #beer #photography
