@MostlyHarmless I know a lot of people who need to hear this
@MostlyHarmless Even most millionaires are closer to being homeless than they are to being billionaires. All it would take is one major health issue, one wildfire, etc.
@MostlyHarmless Maybe everyone needs more empathy in general. You don't need other people to resemble you to have empathy for them, and people don't need to be able to do something for you to have value either.
@jhooper @MostlyHarmless It's just the consecuence of systemic propaganda. I'm not even from North America like the OP probably is, but there's always a not so clear intent on vilifying the struggles of working class people by the mainstream media here. Their message can be resumed to: "You are poor because you want to be poor, now stop talking about systemic reform or we'll send the police to smack you".
@lionso @MostlyHarmless likely an acknowledgement of the threat the lower classes are to the rich.

@MostlyHarmless Very true but lots of propaganda ensures that we hate the poor as morally to blame for being poor whereas billionaires we are assured earned their wealth through hard work
@MostlyHarmless But everybody can be a millionaire!

@dl2jml @MostlyHarmless

Even in a million USD doesn't mean what it used to.

One medical crisis can wipe that out in the US

@MostlyHarmless your yearly income is also probably higher than the 95 % of the rest of the world
