Trump asked "why should [Elon] be punished?" In reference to Tesla's falling sales.

Well he/Tesla left their products virtually identical for years, sometimes over a decade (model s) and the rest of the market has caught up.

Their products are now "mid grade" at best and customers have decided to buy other better products.

So he's being punished by capitalism for resting on his laurels. Which is predictable and fair.

That's why Elon is should be punished, because it's only fair.
