Believe it or not straight to jail
Believe it or not straight to jail
It’s definitely not standard… But it’s not surprising that it’s happening. Unfortunately.
And it’s extremely concerning.
Important to note here that the he has not been charged with a crime.
If a legal resident commits a crime there is a process to detain, try, sentence and possibly deport them. It happens all the time. But that is not what is happening here. They arrested and detained an American without due process.
A U.S. green card holder faces deportation after helping lead student protests at Columbia University in New York last spring over the war in Gaza. President Donald Trump has warned that Mahmoud Khalil's arrest is the “first arrest of many” as his administration cracks down on opposition to the war. But a federal judge has temporarily blocked his expulsion from the country, pending a Wednesday hearing in Manhattan federal court. Khalil was detained Saturday and is being held at a federal facility in Louisiana. He served as a student negotiator and was one of the most visible activists during the protests at Columbia, which also took place on other college campuses around the world.
Checks out, Israel has been explicitly and intentionally modelling Nazi Germany from the very start, and often in collaboration with them.

Ah yes because she said she was going to deport people and shut down protests.
Trump literally said he was going to do that while campaigning - and is now doing just that.
At least you would’ve had a voice.
Kamala was VP under Biden, who like Obama gave billions to Israel to murder Palestinians. Even tho the majority of people oppose the war, they get this anyway.
The US is not a democracy, it’s a capitalist dictatorship.
So you’re trying to tell me it would’ve been the same and/or worse under Kamala? I want some of whatever you’re on…
I get it’s not ideal, but you’ve got millions of idiots here in the US that couldn’t give a shit about Palestine. I’m not one of the ones you need to convince of this. I just voted for the better of the two options this time around considering the stakes. Voted Bernie Sanders in both 2016 and 2020.
you’re trying to tell me it would’ve been the same and/or worse under Kamala
That’s exactly what I’m trying to tell you
Pretty sure what they meant is same for Palestine.
However it would be without the blatant authoritarian BS going on that hurts people in the US even more.
If your end goal is the fall of US as the result of this, then fair.
That was kind of the critical issue going on. There was this whole movement to get some kind of course change on Israel. Biden made it clear there was a higher chance of Trump changing course on Israel. Kamala insisted she would not change course from Biden.
It really didn’t work out for their campaign.
Damn, Trump brought peace to the Middle East? News to me lol. As far as I’m aware, Israelis are still slaughtering Palestinians
Maybe he should work some of his magic with Ukraine and Russia
Trump brokered a peace deal between Palestinians and Israeli which stopped, or at the very least paused, the genocide for almost two months now. Are you suggesting the situation was better under Biden?
He is also currently working towards a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
This dude is protesting because despite the stop of the genocide, the occupation of Palestine by Israel continues.
What happens when it falls through again in a week or two? And all things considered, of course it was going to be worse under Biden. That was in the months immediately following 10/7 which of course was going to be the time for the crazy response from Israel…
Seems off you’re liking Trump on this when literally this post started with him illegally detaining and trying to deport US-Palestinians
If it falls through again in a week or two, I have more faith in the Trump administration to potentially bring peace again than in the Biden administration. Biden was unwilling to use any serious leverage in order to get the Israeli government to stop the genocide.
I don’t like Trump. I merely acknowledge he has been far more successful in stopping the genocide compared to Biden. I do not agree with the Trump administration illegally detaining people.
What happened to being civil and nice?
Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy, is the one who brokered the ceasefire deal. He imposed a meeting to Netanyahu in the middle of Shabbat and told him the peace deal was going to happen, no way around it. Biden had over a year to do this and refused to apply meaningful pressure on Israel.
if anyone had any other realistic options given the situation I’m all ears lmao
