Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK@Geri the BBC East of England crime reporter (who also covered the Ipswich serial murders and various others in the region) said he was shocked by the case, but having lived in this region nearly 20 years, unfortunately I almost expect stuff like this to happen amongst supposedly "quiet" middle class white communities (as the old bill are spending a lot of their time watching black/brown/poor people and don't see how #ToxicMasculinity is in the rich areas too (or are part of it themselves)

@Geri its less of a problem amongst our age group, but got worse with generations after. About 15 years ago I was chatting to a young lad (then in his late teens) about the presence of Police officers in their 6th form giving domestic violence advice and saying "isn't this overkill?" but he told me it definitely wasn't (and he was a raver, not a cop bootlicker!)
That lad and his classmates are now in their 30s and its this age group who tend to end up being nicked for violence in the suburbs >
@Geri at work we lose about 3-5 staff each year due to domestic violence - not even because they get badly hurt or killed but their partners disrupt their lives to such an extent they can no longer work and end up resigning. There's now discreet advice leaflets/cards in our reception and our HR staff are trained to deal with these situations..
Also those now in their 30s-40s often likely to be parents themselves, and pass on toxic behaviour to their offspring..
@Geri also a lot of the 30 something men round here do stop short of attacking their partners, but are constantly being pulled up for other sketchy behaviour - fighting over trivial matters (grown men in villages round here who fight over disputes that started in high school), people even stabbing their best friends, excessive drug use, road rage, dangerous driving and all sorts and any attempt to stop this is classed as "attack on their freedom" (which is why Tate/Farage etc are popular)
@vfrmedia My town suffers a lot from class status. Either you have wealth or you are a nobody. There's an underbelly of discontent, but nothing really happens.

@Geri its similar here, although the posh folk tend to live in the outer suburbs and simply don't venture into town all that much. The paradox is a lot of the 30-40 something criminals and addicts aren't from shitty backgrounds, they are adult offspring of rich folk in the rural areas, but constantly moan about "foreigners" (who don't really cause much trouble, even the vape/sweet/barber shops and car washes are mostly legit and just sell the products/services you would expect)
