I dunno about other developers, but I'm not sure I have the energy to redesign all my apps this year if iOS is getting an iOS-7-style revamp 😐
@stroughtonsmith yeah what an odd decision. surely they gotta get the devrel back on track first, right? otherwise no-one is coming on the ride with them
@stroughtonsmith looking forward to more SwiftUI bugs, if the latest macOS beta is any indication... (title overlapping back button)
@stroughtonsmith as a user I’m not sure I have faith that Apple will do this well enough to keep me in the ecosystem.
@stroughtonsmith As just a *user* of iOS, I’m not sure I have the energy to deal with a UI redesign when there are so many platform problems that feel ignored.
@stroughtonsmith Sounds like a great idea with developers feeling so positive about Apple these days!
@stroughtonsmith But, but... I'm pretty sure you "called" it.
Back when visionOS was brand new (old news, am I right?), I'm certain you wrote some words about how this framework seemed to have the building blocks from something big.
I feel like you were fairly optimistic then.
Or did I misunderstand?
@enthraxxx I think you're remembering me talk about the missing link between iPadOS and visionOS, macOS. A common ancestor that does not exist
@stroughtonsmith reading those words today caused me to groan audibly. Just put everyone on Apple Intelligence and save the pretty stuff for next year.

@stroughtonsmith Apple should fix its ScreenTime and a bunch of other stuff before engaging in another stupid redesign

The whole Apple software stack is now an increasing pile of half-hearted, half-assed, buggy unfinished things

How will a UI revamp help with any of that?
