Oh Windows, will you ever change? ๐Ÿคฃ

#windows

@itsfoss there probably is a way to forcibly shut it down from cmd - so much for Linux users being "terminal โ‰ˆ hackers"
@itsfoss I think it actually shuts down first and updates later. Not sure - it's been a long time since I've used Windows...

@zstg @itsfoss Actually it's the other way round. It updates first and shuts down after it's done updating.

And if you're very lucky, the computer is still working after the update ๐Ÿ˜‰

@anopka @zstg @itsfoss In my experience, it updates and then restarts no matter which one you pick. ๐Ÿ˜Œ
@itsfoss that screenshot must be old. I always get separate options to either just shutdown or shutdown and update.
@itsfoss Is shitposting all that this account is good for? That's all I ever see, at least. I get that this outrage farming gets the most likes, but this petty (and uninformed) self-righteousness is just kind of gross....
@itsfoss update and erase ?!? ๐Ÿ˜†

@itsfoss Fun fact: โ€œUpdate and shut downโ€ is a lie. What it does it: Update, reboot, update some more, shut down.

Unfortunately, on my machine the reboot means booting to Linux (unless I interrupt it). So when I try to shut it down and come back later, I have a fully booted Linux machine in the room. When I shut it down and boot Windows again after some time, it boots and immediately shuts down again.

@itsfoss Classic windows, giving you a sleep and two restart options.
And yes, Update and Shut Down has always led to the 'Restarting...' screen since the start of windows 10. They never fixed that.
