On Wednesday, a brief decision came down from SCOTUS that answered a very important question: Would the High Court side with the Constitution and its own federal courts, or would it capitulate to Trump? The fate of our Republic hung in the balance. https://open.substack.com/pub/statuskuo/p/we-dodged-a-constitutional-bullet?r=1zr8b&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
We Dodged A Constitutional Bullet

A 5-4 Supreme Court decision on Wednesday leaves our distressed system alive to fight another day.

The Status Kuo
@jaykuo The Supreme Court decision that the administration cannot ignore the decisions of the court should not have come down to a 5-4 decision. It's not just a question of the Constitution, although it is a matter for constitutional law and scholarship, but a matter of common sense. The court cannot decide that it will give away all of its power to the administration. That is not a decision that the Supreme Court should even be able to decide in any other way than that courts matter. The fact that four members on the court were actually willing to give up all judicial authority and eliminate the power of the judicial branch makes no sense at all.
@wbpeckham @jaykuo with the apparent Russian takeover fully I expect some uncooperative SCOTUS judges to tragically fall out of windows.
@zomgwtfbbqkewl @wbpeckham @jaykuo I was thinking the same thing. They're after Amy Coney Barrett. How dare she go against the cult leader?
