@TheGentYYC Kenny is an interesting and complex character. He has an opportunist streak that guided his entire political career. Right from the start it was a delicate balancing act between public opinion, pandering to his base and his personal convictions...generally in that order of operations.
This worked well for decades...until it didn't, when Covid hit and Take Back Alberta used the opportunity to massively upset that balance.
Absent the political balancing act Kenny can say what he really feels...but being used to doing it for decades I think he still tends to make public statements when they align with public opinion and if a good opportunity for a comeback presented itself He'd probably take it.
@orleansfietser @TheGentYYC Doug is on the campaign trail to be PM. Also Kenney.
Also Doug:
I'm 100% happy President T.rump won.
You guys are "going too hard" on Wayne Gretzky [for hosting his daughter's wedding at MarALago and spending xmas there]
@orleansfietser @CanadianCrone @TheGentYYC sigh. More Conservative f*ckery Canadians have forgotten about.
"Prime Minister Stephen Harper's cancellation of the long-form census has taken a toll on Statistics Canada's data."
@CanadianCrone @orleansfietser @TheGentYYC [DougFord] "is ingratiating himself with Donald"
The premier is playing both sides of the border. Would not be surprised to hear DF holds a US passport.
Broken clock… ?
@TheGentYYC That looks like it's mid thread - do you know if this is a reference to a decision that has been made to restrict potash exports, or just to a hypothetical?
Because as I understand it, cutting off or restricting potash would be very difficult without Scott Moe being on board, in the same way restricting oil would be hard without Danielle Smith being on board, and those two seem like the boot-lickiest premiers in Canada right now.
