History: "WWII started with a right-wing authoritarian leader allying himself with a Russian dictator and agreeing to mutually devour a country on Russia's borders. That's essentially identical to what Trump and Putin are attempting to do now. The way to stop WWII was to hold a dictator in check. The way to prevent WWIII is the same."

@bodhipaksa you mean the democratically elected leader, who pointed a countries frustration towards a marginalized group that was minding its own business, and legally convinced the democracy to make him into a fascist dictator who proceeded to murder millions?

@masukomi That's part of the parallel, for sure. You can add to that that the leader had said he was going to do outrageous things if he got elected, but the press said that being in office would make him more moderate, but when he did get into power (after a failed coup) he was much worse than anyone had expected.
