That's essentially identical to what Trump and Putin are attempting to do now. The way to stop WWII was to hold a dictator in check. The way to prevent WWIII is the same."

@bodhipaksa When the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was signed, there was no hint of either Hitler or Stalin being in the other's thrall. They just did it for their own mutual benefit. Our present misfortune is that Trump admires and empathizes with Putin more than Zelenskyy or other European leaders.
@charvaka No, they were enemies. But however much Trump may think Putin is his buddy and ally, Putin still sees the US as a strategic enemy to be defeated. His support for Trump is part of his strategy to take the US down, and Russian will still continue to attack the US in various non-military ways.
