@Anneke @anarodrigues @charis meetup.com is consistent in being a huge shit show. Since forever.
Few years ago I thought that their inability to do deliver good UX was because they were super understaffed. Then when they were acquired by Wework, I saw their team photo: https://www.meetup.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/meetupdate_allstaff.jpg
Now all they seem to care about is squeezing as much money out of folks as possible, which is a logical consequence of this announcement: https://www.meetup.com/blog/the-next-chapter-of-meetup/
The big problem is that there is no alternative with the same success in making people aware of + driving them to a meetup.
Colloq was an alternative for a while but never got traction.
