Italy: the fastest country in the world?
Nuclear energy law to be approved by end-2025. Legislative decrees regulating the entire nuclear energy cycle drafted and enacted by end-2026. And just 4 years later, in 2030: new nuclear power plants in operation!

Wow, but.. how?
“We are looking at fusion and new-generation fission with completely different tools compared to large-scale nuclear plants of the past.”, said Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.

Says @euractiv.com: Italy is on track to reintroduce nuclear energy by 2030.
😀

I understand your interest is rather in playing with words, because you'll argue that none of these is commercial. But yes, the first milestone is to remove the nuclear ban in Italy. By the way, I recall your enthusiasm in supporting that monumetally fake technology called #GreenHydrogen

Eni and Commonwealth Fusion Systems, together for fusion energy

@mrbrown @Sustainable2050

Still quite a step from those to a running power plant in 2030?

@Zamfr @Sustainable2050 where exactly did you read "running power plant in 2030"? did you read the size of such a plant? did you read "commercial scale"?
are you commenting things you read or things you thought you've read?

i'm hoping you have no experience in R&D

@mrbrown @Sustainable2050

From the article:

Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin reinforced the government’s commitment, stating that “by 2030, we will have nuclear power in Italy, I am convinced.”
That seems to require a running power plant in 2030? Perhaps a small one, but that would still be a challenge.

@Zamfr @Sustainable2050 I understand you've no idea of what you're talking about. have fun with your chit chat and those who like you
@mrbrown @Sustainable2050
Now I am confused. The minister really talks about 2030, or is that a translation error?
