The Trump administration’s decision to withdraw foreign aid and dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development is likely to cause enormous human suffering, according to estimates by the agency itself. Among them:

up to 18 million additional cases of malaria per year, and as many as 166,000 additional deaths;

200,000 children paralyzed with polio annually, and hundreds of millions of infections;

one million children not treated for severe acute malnutrition, which is often fatal, each year;

more than 28,000 new cases of such infectious diseases as Ebola and Marburg every year.

@MicheleV_AK So incredibly sad Michele. I have always admired America’s humanitarian role in the world, despite Vietnam, Iraq etc.. The incalculable human suffering as a result of the current American president’s policies will reverberate for generations. I am hopeful the American public will find a way to remove this malodorous turd and his sycophants from office and return your nation to the once prestigious position it once held.

@mikemcrae We are trying, but Congress has refused to do their jobs, so we now rely on the courts, but this admin has an aversion to following court orders. I am an old woman on SS, and hubby is on SS/VA benefits, but we would move to Canada tomorrow if allowed. Bless all of the fine folks in Canada! I am so deeply sorry that there is an asshole in the WH. I did NOT vote for the bastard.
