Die USA verdienen hervorragend an der Militärhilfe für die Ukraine. Geschätzte 80% (die Zahlen sind ja leider nicht ganz öffentlich) landen in den Taschen der US-Rüstungsindustrie, da viele der "Sachspenden", auch aus europäischen Ländern, aus USA importiert wurden.

Die dadurch gesicherten Arbeitsplätze befinden sich hauptsächlich in trumpistischen Armenhäusern, wo die Waffenindustrie sich ja gerne ansiedelt.

Trumps Verhalten macht wirklich nur Sinn, wenn man ihn als Putinknecht betrachtet.

@[email protected] @[email protected] One of the things that amazes me is that direct payments from a government to its military-industrial complex are understood as "aid for another country". I mean, in the end the Ukraine Aid consisted mainly in funneling taxpayer's money into Lockheed Martin, Raytheon & Co or am I mistaken? Of this money, some went directly back to the government in form of corporate taxes (not very high, I suppose), a minor part trickled down into the economy as wages and another chunk went directly into the pockets of the shareholders. Probably this makes the numbers way more complex to interpret, since many of the European countries bought Weapons made in the US or replaced the material they sent to Ukraine with more modern material from US companies. And also in the different countries some spent the money in state-owned companies, others in private military corporations and the abovementioned proportions vary probably. I have never seen the numbers taking these things into account...
