That implies foremost also being ready to becoming independent in terms of information technology that has all of our IT-services running on US-based cloud services, social networks that allow to dictate europe ... which will need a *huge* effort and quite some 180° turns.

Europe has been at war with Russia in all but name for quite a few years now. Cyber war, troll farms, funding of political parties, incursions into airspace, murdering citizens with nerve agents, etc. The country we are appeasing now is not Russia but the USA.
