To those wondering when the #Democrat pushback will come, it won't.

Their strategy is "we told you so."
The sad thing is it will likely work.

I predict Trump will lose his #House and #Senate majorities after the #midterms ... then they'll successfully impeach him.

Then we'll go back to "fascist lite" business as usual #WallStreet boot licking.

The way to prevent business as usual is to PRIMARY the incumbent democrats.

That is what made the #TeaParty so wildly effective in shifting this country to the so hard to the right.

Primary the business as usual democrats. Take. Them. Out.

@LeftistLawyer
What exactly do you think that Democrats should be doing?

@taoish in my experience , people that ask those questions, don't really want to know the answer. Things like "promote politics that benefits regular people and not their billionaire sponsors/ Israel" and "start working for ACTUAL democracy" seem to be not the answers they are looking for.

@LeftistLawyer

@lettosprey @LeftistLawyer
And in my experience a lot of people say "DO SOMETHING" when they have no specific idea what someone should do, or have highly impractical proposals ("stop Trump's moves in Congress/the Courts").

Bernie's rallies are great, keep it up. But he has star power (from his prior campaigns) that no other Democrat has, except maybe Barack and Michelle Obama. Jeffries couldn't do this, in part bc people in Iowa wouldn't turn out for a Black man.

@taoish Nope. Slogans are what leftwingers were met with when they were told how stupid it was to actually think that they could ever get a fair democracy. "Work within the system!" - "Organize grassroot movements!".

Why are they not our organizing grass root movements now, when apparently they are so upset with the current leader?

Because they have no faith in their own advice, and, again, they are there for their donors, not the people. Of course they are not going to want to change this, its where the money comes from.

If not being puppets to the billionares and listening to regular people needs a more detailed plan, it is because their sponsors are so powerful that this cannot be done.

Is that what you are getting at?
That's would be kinda scary, right?

Then maybe they need to start grassroot movements together with the rest of Americans, and expose their former bosses?

It is funny/sad that you point out that doing what they advice the left to do, cannot even be done by them.

@lettosprey @LeftistLawyer
That's just a bunch more generalizations. Specifics are things like, help organize union organizing drives, propose a specific ballot referendum measure and do the hard work of collecting signatures, run for or help elect progressives to lower level offices so they can work their way up, help folks with media literacy (ie urge them off facebook), or run for a major office when no one has filed against an incumbent. Not yelling at allies.

@taoish Again, these "organize..." hints dont work when the system is rigged against you, RCV still promotes just one winner and isn't solving much of anything, and even that is stoppe by the top of the party, who you, for some odd reason, have like zero influence over who gets to be, and as for moving the goal post and "not yelling at allies", you try pointing out that Biden and Kamala support genocide and that the support for the queer community, specially trans folks, is being sacrifised in order to please so called "centrists", and see what yelling you get. It involves being called a Trumper and all sorta nasty stuff.

You cannot even say a bad word about "the only true democratic party" anymore without being labled a traitor.

And this is the framework you need to "organize" within. Dems are not allies. They are allies of the billionares. They are not there for people, and they use neat slogans and empty phrases as for what you can do, but it matters nothing, they know, as do you.
@LeftistLawyer

@lettosprey @LeftistLawyer
"Start working for ACTUAL democracy" for example isn't an answer and it isn't a plan. It's a vague slogan at best. Arguably lots of Dems have been doing exactly that, in practical and effective ways, but it's not a compelling issue to many Americans.

@taoish "Arguably lots of Dems have been doing exactly that, in practical and effective ways, but it's not a compelling issue to many Americans."

Top Democrats have ever spoken out against FPTP elections?

When?
@LeftistLawyer

@lettosprey @LeftistLawyer
You're shifting the goal posts, with the old vague-to-specific rhetorical trick, but since you asked, yes. Democrats in the last two states I've lived in supported and adopted ranked choice voting.
@LeftistLawyer Is this the part where the Muskrat meets an unexpected end? I'mma fix some popcorn and watch. Then I'll have to beg forgiveness for enjoying all of it!
@LeftistLawyer Can we primary them after the midterms, as a compromise? Because I want both things to happen but I don’t trust so called β€œleftists” to not vote in the main election if their candidate loses in the primaries.
@LeftistLawyer Dems didn't take a dive to impeach Trump later. Kamala told a room of suits years ago we'd be fighting wars over water by 2030s. This is just setting the stage for that. There's no going back.
@LeftistLawyer It is almost like this is by design.. :O
