Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges (December 25, 1745-June 9, 1799) was an Afro-Caribbean French composer, violinist, fencer & political activist. Despite the racism of the era, he was extremely well regarded. During French Revolution he turned to politics and activism before dying young at age 53. Infuriatingly, his works were marginalized after his death due to racism. BUT have received renewed interest and acclaim in the past few decades

Our leading man is New Orleans actor and musician Kelvin Harrison Jr. The son of New Orleans jazz musicians associated with the famed Marsalis jazz family, he plays the piano, trumpet and violin in addition to singing. He practiced 5hrs a day, every day for months to prepare for “Chevalier”
