The data, reviewed in enlightening detail in this Mike Podhorzer piece (https://www.weekendreading.net/p/how-trump-won) and discussed in this Charting the Way Forward episode (https://chartingthewayforward.buzzsprout.com/2415376/episodes/16490801-the-missing-19-million-biden-voters-and-the-pilgrimage-out-of-flatland-feat-mike-podhorzer) strongly supports Prof. Reich's position.

There is an important piece missing from Reich's analysis and argument, the centrality of dog-whistle politics and scapegoating to MAGA’s project.

Not tackling this head on by focusing only on economics is a recipe for continued electoral failure.
