Colin Rowat@gleick I have been worried for some time that Zelensky & the Ukrainian government have not worked harder to keep the cultural Republicans: I think podcasts, tours with their world MMA champions, paintball events with elite Ukrainian units... could have helped. Clearly, Ukraine has been hugely stretched. Clearly, they _should_ not need to bid for the protection of a country that committed to it in 1994. However.
@gleick from Trump, we know that large swathes of the American electorate responds to spectacle, mass rallies, son et lumiere, more than reasoned argument, appeal to higher principles. I think that could have been better played.
