The fact the supreme court is divides over ending a mans life or accepting new evidence, is an atrocity. We should carte blanche, BLANK CHECK!, allow all evidence, if the victims family finds the wrong person was imprisoned they should demand justice, but not against the innocent. There is in betweens, and border situations where its not as clear cut like “if more evidence proves it wasn’t them, then it should be allowed.” For instance maybe they just want to prove their victim was alive when they left the scene. New evidence should still be allowed. Can you even imagine the terror existence created by knowing your life is ruined, and you will not be allowed to even prove you weren’t the one that committed the crime because “law and order” hawks are calling for your head on a platter. Any justice/judge against additional evidence that even as much as puts a shadow of a doubt into the case, deserves prison, not a retirement.
