Canceled Apple Music. I started trial subscriptions for Qobuz and Deezer. Downloaded all my music, fixed my library, and exported to Doppler. The short version is that I'm going to skip Qobuz and Doppler for now, but it's good to feel like I have options besides giving Apple money.

Abandoning Apple Music

@joesteel I went through this a few years ago and tried all of these too! Ultimately I found that Plex was the best option. It takes care of the metadata part and you can just dump all your music in a single folder. I use the Plex Amp app, which feels like Apple Music in many ways. But you can also use Prism Music if you want something that looks a lot like Doppler.
@fourjuaneight @joesteel Yeah if you are willing to pay for a lifetime plex pass and run a plex server somewhere, this is an excellent option. Just stream from myself to myself when Iโ€™m out off the house.
@ezwal @joesteel This is what I did and ran a home server for the longest time. But eventually got tired of dealing with tech issues at work and at home. So now it's on an old Mac Mini and I keep songs downloaded on my phone.
@fourjuaneight @joesteel Ahh makes sense. I have plex running on my desktop computer (Mac) and itโ€™s been pretty hands off.
