@catsalad i always found these games lacked authenticity. for one, it is well established that nazis love gold. but it's never shown! you never surprise these nazis while they're making out with their gold. no goebbels munching on a gold bar. no hitler with a solid 800 ozt monster dildo in his butt. no gold to be found anywhere! it's just a great disappointment for me personally.

@lritter @catsalad Score items in Wolfenstein 3D are nothing but gold. Golden chalices, jewels in chests made of gold. Romero and Hall didn't seem to understand the genocide part of the 3rd reich but they sure did love the cleptomanic aspects.

@lritter @catsalad It would not be so bad, if it was just about gold. Gold has been hoarded for generations all over the world. It's about GPUs and algorithms these days. But you cannot decorate buildings with those. So I agree, that guy sure loves his gold.

@cli @catsalad "just about gold". since 2001, in a stunning sudden trend reversal, the value of gold has steadily increased and is now worth 6 times what it was then, and there is no end in sight. in fact, every time goldfinger says something, it goes up. does he know? of course he does. it's *only* about gold.

gold will survive GPUs and the internet. it needs no civilization to exist. all it needs is bunkers to hide it in. nazis love their bunkers.
