@wordshaper Dune went a little overboard with the whole only humans can calculate thing IMO. I always liked Battlestar Galactica style. You can have a little computer, but its not allowed to talk to other computers.
As long as either outcome destroys our shared nemesis I'm happy.
@Kkress Oh, dude went a little overboard on a *lot* of things (Dune is, I've always said, the best written novel I've ever deeply loathed) but since we're rocketing towards The Silo as our future rather than The Culture... I dunno, I'm good getting out the axes.
Or guillotines, I suppose, assuming the whole giant Tower Of Bullshit doesn't collapse under its own weight soon. (And if it does I can only hope a number of luminaries are buried forevermore in its rubble)
