Peter Brown@dustcircle whilst there may be a hard core stealing for resale as a business, the vast majority of shoplifters are doing so to survive. So any sentence should bear in mind that essential detail.
It is particularly important that they are not landed with a criminal record which will compromise their ability to find jobs in the future
@peterbrown I agree. While some do it for the thrill of it, the stress of stealing (i assume) is not as strong as the needing to do it.
