Dear Republicans,
Are you all really ok with Trump unilaterally surrendering to Russia?
Your silence says you are.
@petergleick Once you get used to not doing anything about children getting killed in schools, you can get used to anything.
@petergleick Russia never needed tanks to conquer the world. It’s sufficient to place a sufficient number of people in key positions …

@UlrichJunker @petergleick i’m not sure if it’s actually confirmed, but urban legend has it that Nikita Khrushchev once told the American UN delegation that “We will take America without firing a shot.”

Today, whether he said that or not, we can conclude that it happened.

@Anders @UlrichJunker @petergleick

It's pretty amazing that an entire leadership structure can give up control of a country without realizing it.

@petergleick

"We have become the evil we fought."
SearingTruth

@petergleick based on the /r/ conservative sub, a lot of them are just jammed about it.
@petergleick
I'm assuming there are veterans among GOP Congressmen. Are they ok with 47s capitation to Putin? If so I assume then that they somehow didn't take an oath to the Constitution. How did they avoid doing that?

@petergleick I believe this unholy alliance is driven by Saudi Arabia, in the name of oil - the source of power, profit, and influence for 🇷🇺, 🇺🇸, & 🇸🇦.
The other common denominator is the public debates about climate change, the need for alternative energy sources to reduce our dependence of fossil fuel.
The western democracies have led this movement, as the people could “afford” to discuss and organize around this issue - a direct threat these autocratic regimes.
By bringing these nations/people to their knees through domestic chaos, anger, fear, and jealousy, nobody cares about such topics anymore. The fight is now for eggs, gas, rent… perhaps “inflicting justice”… survival.
Add disinformation through social media algorithms, star link satellite systems, pod casts, news outlets, removal of government transparency/accountability, and you have a new lens for people to look through before casting their ballot.

“Remember when we believed in man-made climate change?! 😂”

@petergleick The only thing Republicans in Congress are not ok with is losing their own positions of power and privilege. They have no moral principle that they will defend at the cost of losing their own power.
@charvaka @petergleick They're operating at present like they're not concerned that will be an issue.

@petergleick

And they always pretended so well that they were against Russia all those years.

@petergleick oh some of em are saying ‘putin bad’ but their actions and inaction show they are.
